Guide and best practice TrueMail Microlux-NET
Microlux-NET's mail server service focuses on the usability, convenience and security of our customers' mailboxes.
On this page you will find all the details to use/configure it in the best possible way.
Server in POP3 or IMAP mode In the first case (POP3) to download messages and remove them from the server, making them no longer accessible via Webmail or another mail software. In the second case (IMAP) to leave all the mail on the server, so as to keep it synchronized for all the devices on which the account is configured (including webmail).
Shared dedicated space The boxes share the space of the TrueMail plan, in this way their capacity is dynamically set to their real use, so without having to worry about over-allocated or under-allocated disk space.
Plesk Control Panel The control panel provides a single box administrator account with which to easily manage the creation of automatic autoresponders and forwarding to other email addresses (for aliases it is necessary to request activation through Microlux-NET support). Some of the features that can be activated on Plesk can also be managed directly through the webmail filters.
Webmail Roundcube The webmail available is Roundcube and offers the main options related to emails (read confirmation, tags, attachments with data protection and more). Roundcube is responsive, ideal for mobile use as well.
Daily backup (only on hosting plans "Managed") The backup provided is IBM's top reliability TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager), performed daily and incrementally. The backup is off-site (on datacenter far from the one where the mail service is managed) and in case of cancellation of an email guarantees the maintenance of the history for a maximum of 30 days within which, at the customer's request, it will be recoverable by our support team.
Antispam It is the real security for those who use the Microlux-NET mail server. Centralized and fully managed, it uses filters based on a high number of local controls and reputation services that operate both before receiving the message (evaluating the IP, the sender's domain and the behavior of his mail server) and examining the content to detect any typical spam or virus signals. All this with constant updates of the filters themselves and continuous resolution of possible false positives reported. Support enabled by default for SPF and DMARC.
Mail autodiscover Automatic detection of inbox configuration on mail clients (Microsoft Office Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Gmail, iOS Mail on iPhone/iPad, etc.). Allows automatic configuration of all parameters (authentication protocols, mail servers, ports, etc.) without the need to set values manually. Attention, not all mail management systems support the mail autodiscover functionality and if you have problems please refer to the parameters in the following section for a manual configuration or contact our technical support.
CISPE From a technological point of view, our mail server is based on Cloud platforms compliant with the CISPE Data Protection Code of Conduct. Our professional email solution was built using a design of process that commit us to protect data from profiling or activities not achieving GDPR compliance.
